Lot 251.  Photos Signed by 3 Olympics Stars – Michael Johnson, Marion Jones, Carl Lewis. Johnson is shown at the 1996 Atlanta Games, Jones at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and Lewis at the 1984 LA Games in these 8” x 10” action photographs. The signatures are bold 10s. It consists of pins, tickets, programs, press passes and more! 1-200. More than 200 pins, many enamel, almost exclusively from the 1980s-90s, including Calgary, Sarejevo and Coca-Cola Collections. Lot 254.  100+ 1900 to Early 1940s Sports Newspapers. A multitude of sports are covered, including skating, table tennis, auto racing, yacht racing, golf, swimming, track, motor boat racing, cycling, soap box derby, tennis, boxing, baseball and football. Interesting sports articles cover Joe DiMaggio, Lou Gehrig, Jesse Owens, Dizzy Dean, Rocky Marciano, Bob Feller, Willie Pep, the Kentucky Derby, the 1924 Paris Olympics and the 1936 Berlin Olympics. These newspapers also cover weightier subjects of the era: the rise of Hitler and the Nazi party, the Spanish Civil War and the Depression. Prohibition is a hot topic, particularly in advertising. This collection includes 69 different packages of newspaper sections, mostly from The Oregonian and The New York Times. Some packages include multiple sections. They are neatly archived in plastic bags, measuring on average 17” x 23”; each bag holds a complete 1-8 page section. The condition is ex or better. Twenty of the packages have full-page photo spreads, including a 1941 Tennis War Relief Benefit, “The Negroes in Sports are Breaking the Bank!” including Jesse Owens and Joe Louis, 1924 Olympics, 1936 Olympics, motorcycle champions including Orie Steel and Jim Davis; the Indy 500, a 1933 Camel ad featuring the New York Rangers’ Bill Cook, and Babe Ruth in several different photos. In addition, one package contains 14 different New York Times Photo Sections. There is also an 1889 National Police Gazette cover and two-page engraving spread of the Searle-O’Connor Sculling Race. No shortage of incredible articles, photographs and advertisements.

Lot 255.  5 Cards from the 1901 Wills Cigarettes “Cricketer Series.” These colorful cards, from cricket’s “Golden Age,” are: #23 Abel ex+, 26 Lockwood vg-ex, 30 A. O. Jones ex-m+, 31 Storer ex+ and 46 Tyldesley f-g with a 1/8” tear; vg-ex appearance. Jones was the English national cricket captain 1907-08.

Lot 256.  4 Early 1900s Danckleman & Schrader Montevideo Tobacco Cards of Matadors. These real-photo “cigarillos londres” cards originated in Uruguay. All of the cards are Seria (Series) II. Vg-ex: #12 Antonio Bejarano (a) pegote, 18 Manuel Lara (a) jerezano, 20 Antonio Boto (a) Rejaterin. Vg: #14 Jose Rodriguez (a) Bebe Chico. These cards are striking, and scarce.

Lot 258.  2,000+ 1977-1979 Sportscaster Cards Including Complete Series 1-7. These 4 ¾” x 6 ¼” cards feature the brightest stars of virtually every sport imaginable. Familiar names such as Maravich, Seaver, Connors, Unitas, Pele, Shorter, Spitz, Owens, Ali, Orr, Nicklaus, Abdul-Jabbar, Howe, DiMaggio, Bruce Lee, Jenner, Louis, Aaron, Killy, Chamberlain, Russell, Shoemaker and Ruth populate the first seven series. There are duplicates of Series 3, 4 and 6. There also are cards from Series 8-70 in random order, and other series may be complete. The cards average nm, with many better and some less. The series that we know to be complete - and which comprise only 168 of the 2,000+ cards - have a “book” value of more than $300. Excellent break-up potential here.

Lot 259.  Autographed “Legends of Detroit” 30” x 25” Color Lithograph by Doug West. Hall of Fame sports stars Gordie Howe, Al Kaline, Dave Bing and Joe Schmidt have all signed this print, #643 of 1,000, which features spectacular images of the Detroit greats by Doug West. The 26 ½” x 20” image area has a Detroit sports motif in the background. All four stars have signed along the lower white margin in pencil, and each has added the number he wore. Howe signed his first name as “Gordon” and added “Mr. Hockey” below his autograph. West also has signed. The autographs are 10s.

Lot 260.  40 Signatures of Nascar Drivers, Indy Racers, Etc. These signatures are overwhelmingly mint 9s and gem mint 10s on color photos cards featuring an image of the driver. Twenty-two cards are 3 1/2” x 5” or larger, and 18 others are 8” x 10”. Twenty signatures are personalized. There are 21 different signers: Bobby Allison (6 signed items), John Andretti (4), Mario Andretti (2), Buddy Baker (3), Kenny Bernstein (2), Ward Burton, Adrian Fernandez (2), John Forge, Scott Goodyear, Janet Guthrie (2), Ned Jarrett, Terry Labonte, Rick Mears, Shelly Payne, Bobby Rahal, Graham Rahal, Lloyd Ruby, Johnny Rutherford (2), Jay Sauter, Tom Sneva (3), Al Unser (2) and Bobby Unser. Lot 261.  Secretariat Triple Crown Photos Signed by Jockey Ron Turcotte. Nice group of three photos marking the 1973 Triple Crown achievement of Secretariat and Turcotte, the first winners in 25 years.
