Lot 201. Colorful 19th Century Promotional Card for “Seal Of North Carolina” Tobacco. Fabulous vintage artwork with a veritable pallet of color is the hallmark of this spectacular 7 5/8” X 12 ¾” item. Simply stunning, this chromo-heliograph features a young man and woman sitting on a wall in festive attire. The young man smokes an elongated pipe. There is a pack of “Seal of North Carolina” plug cut tobacco illustrated at the lower right and a pouch at the lower left. The back has text touting the superiority of tobacco produced in Granville County, N. C. The tobacco products were actually manufactured by Marburg Bros. of Baltimore. Hoen & Co. of Baltimore printed the card. Although several creases, some border chipping and some staining on the reverse require us to tgrade this piece technically g-vg, the appearance, like the advertised product, is breathtaking.

Lot 202. Set of 55 1914 SC10 Regimental Uniforms of Canada Silks in Uncut-Sheet Form. Imperial Tobacco of Canada produced this set of Canadian soldiers dressed in 55 different colorful military uniforms. This uncut 16” x 22 ¾” sheet of silks makes for a stunning display. There is some fraying along the top and bottom edges, which is often the case with this type of issue, and there are two small holes along lines where the sheet was folded. At the same time, the sheet is free of stains and yellowing, and the colors appear to be as bold as they day they were applied to the silk.
