Lot 189. Vintage (1888) Framed Cabinet Photos of Grover Cleveland and His Wife, Frances. Cleveland is the only President to serve two interrupted terms. Elected in 1884, he was defeated for re-election in 1888, then elected again in 1892. The two cabinet photos, each 4 ¼” x 6”, are by J. McGill of New York. Each features gold type on a maroon mount. Under Grover Cleveland’s name, the text reads “Democratic Candidate for President. 1888.” The photos and cards are ex-m with some residue on the blank backs from masking tape used in framing them. They are matted and contained in a vintage wood frame.
